Our Commitment

Drumpellier is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for children, young people, vulnerable adults, members, volunteers and visitors.

Everyone involved in the club has a role to play in safeguarding and in making sure concerns are taken seriously, handled appropriately and passed to the right people.

Child Wellbeing & Protection

The club’s Child Wellbeing & Protection Officers are the first point of contact for any concern relating to the wellbeing, safety or protection of a child or young person involved in cricket, rugby or wider club activity.

What Should Be Reported?

Concerns may include, but are not limited to:

• a child or young person being harmed, abused, bullied or neglected;

• inappropriate behaviour by an adult or another young person;

• concerns about online behaviour or communication;

• unsafe coaching, changing, travel or supervision arrangements;

• anything that makes a child, parent, carer, volunteer or member feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Immediate Risk

If someone is in immediate danger, or you believe a child or young person is at immediate risk of harm, contact the emergency services by calling 999.

Safeguarding concerns should not be delayed where urgent action is required.

Drumpellier Cricket and Waysiders Drumpellier Rugby Club expects all members, players, coaches, volunteers, parents, carers and visitors to:

• treat children and young people with respect;

• behave appropriately at all times;

• follow club rules and relevant sport governing body guidance;

• raise concerns promptly;

• support a positive and inclusive club environment.
